Grant-Williams Will Use Her Vocal Techniques
To Coach Johnson For Her Upcoming Album
Nashville vocal coach Renee Grant-Williams, ramps up her artist development program with 19-year-old Australian singer Keely Johnson. Grant-Williams’ client roster reads like a Who’s Who of contemporary singers, and includes Keith Urban, Miley Cyrus, Brett Eldredge, Christina Aguilera, Carry Underwood, Jason Aldean and Garth Brooks. She has now added a new facet to her vocal teaching, artist development.
“When the producers of the Italian version of American Idol asked me to mentor then runner-up, Francesca Napoli, I just couldn’t tell them no. It worked so well that I developed a similar six-week program for Canadian singer Cole Campbell and now for Australian singer Keely Johnson.”
Keely travels to Nashville this fall to work with Grant-Williams on vocals for her upcoming album. She will write with top Nashville songwriters for her new album, which will raise money to benefit children with cancer.
Keely co-wrote and recorded her #1 Country iTunes single, “Turn This to Gold,” with Australian super-star and former Australian of the Year, Lee Kernaghan. Her second single, “The Man in the Hat,” also written by Keely, was about Kernaghan’s life. It reached #9 on the Country iTunes Chart.
A consummate entertainer, Keely has performed at the Cowboys game in Townsville, Longreach Hall of Fame, and the Junior Academy. She was also honored to perform for CEOs from 45 countries at the Grand Ballroom at Disneyland for the Make a Wish International Foundation.
Since infancy Keely has suffered from a rare brain tumor. Despite her own illness, she has helped to raise over $600,000 for various children’s cancer charities. She founded her own childhood cancer charity, GO GOLD, to allow children to stay in their home towns rather than traveling to receive treatment. She was awarded the Queensland Young Achiever Award in 2017 and nominated for Young Australian Of The Year for her dedication to helping other children with cancer.
Keely is looking forward to collaborating with songwriters in Nashville on tunes for her new album. She brings to the table life experiences that are far beyond her young age. Keely says she is anxious come to Nashville and learn from professionals whom she considers to be some of the best songwriters in the world. Songwriters wishing to write with Keely should get in touch by calling 615-244-3280 or writing Elaine@MyVoiceCoach.com.
“This girl amazes me. She has spunk, grit and a heart of gold. Instead of feeling sorry for herself, Keely lives her life to the fullest and brings joy to all who meet her,” says Grant-Williams.
Grant-Williams has been coaching professional and amateur singers privately for more than two decades. Her clients have included Miley Cyrus, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Keith Urban, and Christina Aguilera. Now based in Nashville, she has previously taught at the University of California-Berkeley, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and the Actors Studio in New York City.
